Sandalwood Reishi Lotion

Sandalwood Reishi Lotion is a tri-mushroom body lotion for dehydrated, sensitive, and barrier-compromised skin — formulated at 6.25% Bieauctif tri-mushroom blend (reishi, chaga, cordyceps, lactobacillus ferment) and 19% plant-oil lipid system (sunflower, jojoba, shea) at pH 5.5, scented with a tri-species sandalwood essential oil blend. Visible softening from the first use; barrier comfort builds over two to three weeks of daily use. Made for combination to dry skin from the late twenties onward, including sensitive and barrier-compromised skin — body, hands, décolleté, anywhere the day has worn the skin thin.

Why this lotion

The formula is built around a treatment dose of mushroom — 6.25% of a single ingredient is a heavy spend in body care, and it is the choice the lotion is built on. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), chaga (Inonotus obliquus), and cordyceps (Cordyceps sinensis) carry beta-glucans and polysaccharides that bind water to the upper layers of the skin and quiet the look of redness. The same blend includes a lactobacillus ferment that supports the resident microbiome on healthy skin.

The lipid work happens underneath. Sunflower oil at 10% delivers linoleic acid, which the skin uses to rebuild ceramides on its own. Jojoba at 6% is a wax ester, the closest plant analogue to skin’s native sebum — it sits in the lipid layer rather than washing off. Shea butter at 3% adds the lasting cushion. Glycerin and sodium lactate hold water from underneath; allantoin softens the surface.

The sandalwood blend carries three species: Indian sandalwood (Santalum album), Hawaiian sandalwood (Santalum paniculatum), and Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum), rounded with gurjun balsam, copaiba balsam, and amyris. Warm, woody, grounding. It settles into the skin rather than sitting on top.

Built at pH 5.5. Healthy skin sits between 4.5 and 5.5. Formulating at the top of that band keeps the acid mantle intact and supports the resident microbiome that protects the barrier.

Texture and ritual

A medium-weight cream — richer than a lotion, lighter than a butter. One full pump for an arm, two for a leg. Warmed between the palms first, then pressed along the length of the limb before the second pass smooths it in. The sandalwood opens slowly; give it the breath between pumps to settle.
